How we use cookies

A cookie is a small piece of text sent to your browser by a website you visited. It allows the website to memorize informations about your visit, like your favorite language and other settings. That can facilitate your next visit and increase the usefulness of the site in your favor.

The cookies play an important role. Without them, using the Web would be an experience much more frustrating. Cookies are used for many purposes. We use them, for example, to memorize your preferences for reservations, to make more relevant to you the products you see, to count the number of visitors we receive to a page, to help you to sign up for our services and to protect your data.

You can view a list of the types of cookies we use. Our privacy policy explains how we protect your privacy during the use of cookies and other information.

Types of cookies used

We use different types of cookies to manage the websites of New Globus. In your browser could be stored some or all of the cookies listed below. You can see and manage cookies in your browser (although it's possible that the browsers for mobile devices don't provide this visibility).

  • Preferences: These cookies allow our websites to store information that modify the behavior or the aspect of the sites themselves, such as the preferred language or the geographical area where you are. By storing the geographical area, for example, a website might be able to provide you local weather forecasts or news on local traffic. Cookies can also help you to change the text size, the font type and other customizable parts of web pages.

The loss of the information stored in a preference cookie could make less functional the experience on the website but should not affect its working.

Most of our users has a preference cookie called "ft_*" in the browsers. A browser send this cookie with requests to the New Globus sites. The cookie "ft_*" could store your preferences and other information, in particular your preferred language (for example English) and your preference of booking date.
  • State of the session: Web sites often collect information on how users interact with them. That may include the pages visited more frequently by users and the possibility that users receive error messages from certain pages. We use these "cookies for session state" to improve our services and the navigation experience of our users. The block or delete of these cookies will not make unusable the website.

These cookies may also be used to memorize the choices and the eCommerce cart present on our websites.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics is a free tool of web analysis by Google that mainly allows the websites owners to understand the ways of interaction of visitors with their websites. It also sets the cookies on the domain of the site you are visiting. Analytics uses a range of cookies with names such as "__utma" and "__utmz" to collect information anonymously and report the websites trends without identifying individual visitors.
Manage of the cookies on the browser

Some people prefer not to enable cookies and for this reason almost all browsers provide the possibility to manage them in order to respect users preferences.

In some browsers is possible to set rules to manage cookies site-by-site, an option that gives you a more precise control on your privacy. This means that you can disable cookies from all sites, except for those you trust.

Another feature of some browsers is his incognito navigation mode. You can navigate in incognito mode when you don't want that your websites visits or your downloads are recorded in your browsing and download histories. All the cookies created in incognito mode are deleted after you close all the incognito navigation windows.
